The Golden Retriever is an extraordinarily lovable, friendly and trusting dog with numerous talents. Its soft, smooth fur, for which it is particularly admired, has a water-repellent undercoat and should be particularly protected.
The skin of the Golden Retriever is considered extremely sensitive, which is why proper nutrition plays a big role; it contributes to maintaining the natural qualities of the coat and can protect the skin's defenses against external influences and inhibit inflammation.
The Golden Retriever has a natural tendency to be overweight, which can lead to excessive strain on the joints. An increased risk of heart disease should also be taken into account.
